St. Jude Fundraiser – 2010
“Resilience of the Eras”
On Sunday, May 2, 2010, Francesco’s Salon & Spa hosted their annual fundraiser fashion show. This year the theme featured fashions from each era starting with the 40’s through the 90’s. More than 30 models walked the runway at the Willoughby Brewing Co. to oohs and aahs from the crowd. The mood was exhilarating with music and entertainment from DJ Lino, American Commodore dancers who performed various hits from the 70’s and 80’s, ballroom dancers Carmine and Renata among others.
All proceeds were donated to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. Many thanks to the community for their overwhelming support!
Chris Small, Francesco’s Salon & Spa client, comments, “I thought the show was spectacular, the hair, the makeup, the clothes were awesome. I loved the music, loved the dancing in between, the people were wonderful…the food was great. It was a great night. I always get to the St. Jude event, it’s always a great cause.”
The evening included One Craft Beer, a Chinese auction and delicious appetizers donated by Willoughby Brewing Co., Oliver Twist, TJ’s on the Avenue, Dino’s Restaurant, and Gavi’s with many door prizes and giveaways. Clothing and fashion were provided by Chelsea’s Costumes.
Group leaders from the salon were Richie, Danielle, and Lisa, make-up artist Andrew, Kristen and Karen.
Domenica Fini, Francesco’s co-owner, says: “we are proud of our staff, they worked really hard and this event just keeps getting better! It was fun, I believe everyone enjoyed themselves and we raised funds for a great cause.”
Many local businesses supported the event. Sun Rental donated equipment. Willoughby Brewing Co. opened the facility at no charge and covered the free drink ticket. Allegra Print & Imaging donated tickets and posters,
